Moana New Zealand is at the forefront of oyster farming innovation. Over the past five years, we’ve transformed our farming operations with innovative technology and sustainable farming techniques— to help support our growth and focus on ensuring a consistent supply of premium oysters to both local and international markets.

We’re currently hiring 1 permanent Oyster Farm Workers to join our largest oyster farm in Whangaroa.

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days are the same. Your tasks may include:

  • Checking oyster stock and harvesting
  • Animal husbandry
  • Assembling and fixing oyster baskets and flip farm infrastructure
  • General labouring and support in general farm, yard, and shed operations

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants who:

  • Have aquaculture experience or hold a Skipper’s qualification (ideal but not essential)
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and reliability
  • Show genuine interest in aquaculture and a positive, can-do attitude

Whether you’re experienced or just starting out on aquaculture, we offer on-the-job training and support toward industry-recognized qualifications—from a Skipper’s Licence to a certificate or Diploma in Aquaculture.
